Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) Northwest became a partner in national service in 2010 through a National Direct AmeriCorps grant. Since its founding in 1994, AmeriCorps has mobilized over 800,000 people through local organizations across the country to address critical needs in education, poverty, health, and the environment.
Jesuit Volunteer (JV) AmeriCorps members are invited to engage in one or more years of full-time service focusing on the core values of community, simple living, social and ecological justice, and spirituality/reflection. 135 full-time JV AmeriCorps members serve with over 100 partner agencies in 21 locales in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. They help strengthen the capacity of non-profits, engage students in their academic pursuits, and increase access to healthcare for those with barriers to receiving care.
